The Diploma in Academic Management in ESL is a second year continuation programme designed exclusively for students who have successfully completed the Certificate in Spanish Culture & Advanced TEFL at TtMadrid.
This programme is designed for teachers who want to deepen their understanding of language education while developing practical management and leadership skills within an ESL environment. It combines continued Spanish study with professional training that reflects the realities of working in international education.
As part of the programme, students continue building their teaching experience in Madrid whilst developing a broader understanding of academic coordination, student support, course organisation and educational operations.
A Structured Academic Continuation
This programme forms the second stage of our three year academic pathway:
Year 1
Certificate in Spanish Culture & Advanced TEFL
Year 2
Diploma in Academic Management in ESL
Year 3
Diploma in Bilingual Education
Students must successfully complete each stage before progressing to the next programme. External applications are not accepted for this course.

Included Spanish Programme
Your programme also includes:
- 8 weeks of intensive Spanish courses or 14 weeks of semi intensive Spanish classes
- 6 months of part time Spanish classes
- A range of morning, evening and online schedule options
Visa Renewal & Right to Work
As this programme is designed as a continuation of study following successful completion of Year 1, students may apply for their second year student visa renewal from within Spain.
Students enrolled on the programme continue to benefit from the right to work up to 30 hours per week under current student visa regulations.
TtMadrid also works with an experienced immigration lawyer who supports students throughout the renewal process.
Entry Requirements
To enrol on this programme, students must:
- Successfully complete the Certificate in Spanish Culture & Advanced TEFL
- Meet attendance and academic requirements
- Complete all required coursework and teaching practice
- Maintain satisfactory progression throughout Year 1
