We have spent almost 20 years welcoming people from all over the world to do our TEFL course in Madrid and helping them embark on their new life as an English teacher in Madrid.
It’s a big step and with our support and training, you’ll spring into your new adventure with confidence and all the tools you need.
Our flexible hybrid TEFL course gives you a globally recognised Level 5 qualification and the practical confidence to step into your first classroom.
You’ll begin with 10 weeks of self-paced online preparation, which you can complete from anywhere in the world. Your course materials become available as soon as you enrol, so you can start learning straight away and work through the assignments around your existing commitments.
You’ll then join us in Madrid for four weeks of practical, in-person training. During the first two weeks, you’ll attend part-time afternoon classes, giving you time to settle into Madrid, meet your classmates and build your teaching knowledge at a comfortable pace.
The final two weeks bring everything together through lesson planning, classroom preparation and observed teaching practice with real students. These weeks are intensive, supportive and highly practical, helping you develop the skills, experience and confidence to teach English in Spain or anywhere else in the world.
Once you are accepted onto the course, you’ll begin your TEFL adventure immediately! You’ll have access to our online classroom and can start working through the 65 hours online that you’ll need to complete before you start your on-site training. We’ll help you with everything you need in Spain, from accommodation options to what to pack! If you need to apply for a visa, we’ll prepare your documentation and walk you step by step through the process. If you come to Madrid before your course date, please pop in and say hi so we can give you a tour and you can meet the team.
The course runs from Monday to Friday over four consecutive weeks and your first day will include a welcome lunch to help you get to know the trainers and fellow trainees. The four-week, in-person training and support includes guided lesson planning sessions, six observed teaching practices (with real students), feedback with points on how to improve, and further theoretical sessions to consolidate topics like teaching methodologies and cover new areas, like phonology and materials preparation.
During your time with us, our mission is to fully prepare you for the reality of teaching English. Not only do you come away with an internationally recognized Level 5 TEFL certificate, but you’ll also have the confidence to walk into any classroom and deliver a high-quality English class.
With homework most nights, it is hard work and is very intensive but we will support you throughout the whole course. We have checks and balances during your entire course to make sure you are on track for success.
Once you graduate from your TEFL course in Madrid, we will continue to keep in touch and our door is always open for accommodation, job or just general life advice!
