Giving back: TtMadrid’s partnership with Kelele Africa

Kelele Africa is a non-profit organization established in 2011. It runs various projects on education, health and gender equality in communities of Kasenda and Kimya in Uganda.

The organization started with the construction of a fully equipped sewing workshop led by a teacher. As a result of this effort, almost 100 women have received professional training. At the request of the Kasenda Community, Kelele Africa built “St Francis Xavier Health Centre”, for women to give birth in a medical center with professional staff.

Kelele Africa’s work in education

Understanding the importance of education, Kelele Africa began helping a school in the area and eventually built its own multifunctional eco-school called “KUMWENYA SCHOOL”.  Since 2015 the school has had two Spanish teachers that train and supervise local teachers throughout the school year.

At TtMadrid, we believe that education transforms lives, opens doors, and builds stronger communities. That’s why we are proud to partner with Kelele Africa. Their initiatives are driven by the belief that every individual deserves access to education and the chance to reach their full potential.

One of Kelele Africa’s most impactful programs is their scholarship initiative, which sponsors students from underprivileged backgrounds to pursue their education. This program not only covers tuition fees but also provides support for school materials, uniforms, and meals, ensuring that students can focus on their studies without financial barriers holding them back.

Kelele ATEGEKA DEO - August 2019

In 2018, TtMadrid joined hands with Kelele Africa to sponsor Ategeka Deo, a bright and determined student from Uganda, as part of our commitment to giving back. Ategeka’s journey began at Kabarole Adventist High School, where he worked incredibly hard to overcome challenges and seize every opportunity that came his way.

Over the years, Ategeka has not only excelled academically but has also demonstrated his dedication to sports and leadership activities within the school community. His resilience, passion, and determination have inspired us and are a testament to the power of education to change lives.

We are thrilled to share that Ategeka has now successfully completed high school. His next steps depend on the results of his final exams. Depending on his scores, Ategeka hopes to pursue higher education at university or engage in professional development training to prepare for his future career. Regardless of the path he takes, we are confident that Ategeka will continue to make a positive impact on his community and inspire those around him.

A Shared Commitment to Education

Our partnership with Kelele Africa and Ategeka Deo’s achievements remind us why education is at the heart of what we do. By supporting initiatives like this, we aim to contribute to a world where everyone has access to the tools and resources they need to build a brighter future.

As Kelele Africa continues its work in education, health and gender equality, we hope to promote and share their progress amongst the TtMadrid community. Their goal is to make each of the projects as self-sustainable as possible. If you’re interested in joining their cause, you can choose from multiple options or even help by spreading the word about the organization.

You can donate, sponsor or just find out more information on the impressive work that has been done by Kelele Africa on their web page, or follow them on Instagram to keep up with the progress on new and existing projects.
