Cheap places to eat near TtMadrid

Entre Cáceres y Badajoz

Entre Cáceres y Badajoz If you are looking for a typical tapas restaurant, then this is definitely your place! Here you will get big portions of typical Spanish meals, such as huevos rotos, pimientos del padron or calamares, among others, together with your drinks. A great way of trying a bit of everything in an informal and lively environment. It is usually crowded, but the service is quite fast and if you have a bit of patience, you’ll get yourself a comfy spot to enjoy your food.

Where: Don Ramón de la Cruz 109.

El Rincón de Jaén

El Rincón de JaénThere’s a reason why this restaurant has four branches in Madrid: their food is really nice and even though it is a bit more expensive than the other places mentioned in this post, it is definitely worth it! If you are a big fan of seafood, here you will get to try some of the most typical in Madrid, such as chopitos, gambas, boquerones and berberechos, among many others. They also offer great-quality ham, a wide variety of cheese and different types of meat.

Where? Don Ramón de la Cruz 88, Doctor Gómez Ulla 6, Camilo José Cela 11, Don Ramón de la Cruz 101.

Cheap places to eat elsewhere in Madrid

El Arco IrisEl Arco Iris

Located in Plaza de Olavide, near metro Iglesia, El Arco Iris is one of the many restaurants you will find there, though one of our favorites. Its terrace is very comfortable, the service quite fast and their prices will leave everyone happy. For around ten euros you can get tortilla Española for two and a bowl of salad (trust me, you probably won’t be able to finish it all!) You can also order chopitos, patatas bravas or chicken wings, just to name a few…

Where? Plaza de Olavide, 2

Bar Hawaii

Bar HawaiiRight in the center of Madrid, this bar is perfect if you want to have some beers with friends and get traditional Spanish tapas with each round you order. You can get from ensaladilla rusa to croquetas, pulpo or lacón. If you rather order from the menu, you can choose between raciones, platos combinados, tostas, bocadillos or sandwiches without worrying that the bill will be out of your budget. Even though it is a small place, it has quite a nice atmosphere every day of the week.

Where? Calle de Hortaleza, 37

Museo del Jamón

Museo del JamónSpain is famous for its incredible Jamón Serrano, though sometimes its price can make it unaffordable for those on a budget. If you want to stuff yourself with top quality ham, then the Museo del Jamón is a must! Here you will find all types of ham so that you don’t spend a euro more than what you can while having a nice glass of wine or beer. They also have menus for less than 8 euros.

Where? Calle Mayor 7, Calle de Atocha 54, Paseo del Prado 44, Calle Gran Via 72, and many others!
