The temperatures are perfect for taking a walk in one of the many parks in Madrid, or for hiding away in a cozy cafe, Autumn in the Spanish capital has tons of activities. Exhibition: The beauty of the cosmos: Astronomicum Caesareum.

Until January 9, 2021 the exhibition: The beauty of the Cosmos: Astronomicum Caesareum, published in 1540 and dedicated to the Emperor Charles V. This Renaissance instructive manual explained the use of the astrolabe (for calculating the altitude of stars) and other instruments used for computing planetary positions.

It is considered a true work of art and the most spectacular printed book of the 16th century.

Hours: Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm. Saturday from 10am to 2pm.

Wow Instagram with pictures at the Sweet Space Museum

sweet_spaceFrom 10 October, the Sweet Space Museum will open in ABC Serrano Shopping Centre. An interactive taste and visual experience, there’ll be guided tours and surprises, as well as a gift shop to get some unique sweet treats! It features various contributions from artists and designers like Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Okuda San Miguel y Antonyo Marest.

Where: Sweet Space Museum (ABC Serrano Shopping Centre, Calle de Serrano, 61, 28006)

Hours: Monday, Wednesday to Friday from 15.00 to 21.00. Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm.

Entry: €18

Treasure hunts in Madrid

During the month of September and October, there will be some super interesting treasure hunt experiences to explore Madrid in a fun and different way.

Prado Museum

If you are looking for an after work plan, to visit the Prado Museum from Monday to Saturday from 6pm to 9pm for free sounds like a good one! It’s also free on Sunday’s and public holidays from 5pm to 7pm.

Other important dates to consider to visit the Prado Museum is November 19, when it’s usually free all day for its anniversary, and on May 18, for international Museum Day.

Reina Sofia Museum

Admission is free Monday through Saturday (except Tuesday) from 7pm to 9pm and Sundays from 1.30pm to 7pm. You can get in free all day on October 12 each year.

Sorolla Museum

Museo SorollaThe Joaquín Sorolla house-museum is one of the attractions that have become the most popular in recent years. There are free visits on Saturdays from 2.30pm and on Sundays. It is free from opening to closing on April 18, May 18, October 12 and December 6.

Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum

On Monday’s from 12pm to 4pm you have free access to its permanent collection: more than two hundred works that cover all art between the 18th and 19th centuries.

Royal Palace

We know that the sunset from here is worth it, but have you seen it inside? From Monday to Thursday from 4pm to 6pm (October to March) and from 6pm to 9pm (April to September) admission is free. You can also get in free on October 12.

Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid

Nothing like entering the “mini jungle” of the capital to escape from the urban lifestyle. Every Tuesday from 2pm you can enjoy a wide variety of tropical plants for free!
