The Diploma in Bilingual Education is the third year continuation programme at TtMadrid and is exclusively available to students who have successfully completed both the Certificate in Spanish Culture & Advanced TEFL and the Diploma in Academic Management in ESL.
This advanced programme is designed for experienced teachers who want to move beyond classroom methodology and explore the wider theory, research and practice behind bilingual and international education.
Students continue their Spanish studies alongside a more academically focused programme that encourages critical thinking, educational reflection and professional specialisation.
A Structured Academic Continuation
The Diploma in Bilingual Education forms the final stage of our three year academic pathway:
Year 1
Certificate in Spanish Culture & Advanced TEFL
Year 2
Diploma in Academic Management in ESL
Year 3
Diploma in Bilingual Education
Students may only progress into this programme following successful completion of the previous stages of study.
What You’ll Study
The programme explores the principles and practice of bilingual education through a combination of research, reflection and professional application.
Areas of study include:
- Bilingual education methodologies
- Language acquisition and development

- Reflective teaching practice
- International and bilingual learning environments

- Academic writing and educational discussion
This is a more academically traditional programme which includes research based and essay based work connected to your professional teaching experience.
Included Spanish Programme
The programme includes:
- 8 weeks of intensive Spanish courses or 14 weeks of semi intensive Spanish classes
- 6 months of part time Spanish classes
- Flexible timetable options including morning, evening and online classes
Visa Renewal & Right to Work
As a continuation programme following successful completion of previous academic studies at TtMadrid, students may apply for a third year student visa renewal from within Spain.
Students enrolled on the programme continue to benefit from the right to work up to 30 hours per week under current student visa regulations.
Entry Requirements
Students must:
- Successfully complete Year 1 and Year 2 programmes at TtMadrid
- Meet all attendance requirements
- Successfully complete all coursework and assessments
- Demonstrate satisfactory academic progression
External applications are not accepted
