Torrijas in Madrid and Spain are the most typical sweets enjoyed during Holy Week, and their preparation and ingredients are similar to French toasts. They are made by dipping a slice of bread in milk, syrup, or wine, then in egg and fried in a pan with oil. Lastly, they are sweetened with honey or sugar and cinnamon.
