There are plenty of public swimming pools in Madrid to escape the summer heat and chill with your friends while going for a swim. You can spend the whole day there and even have lunch or a drink, since almost all of the have cafeterias for you to take a break from the sun. In this post, you’ll find information about the top five public swimming pools, when they open, prices and other useful information so you can make the most of the summer and escape from the city heat!

 

Piscina de Lago

Tickets are 5€ per day and if you want to purchase the monthly pass it’s between 30-35€. The pool is pretty big and there’s plenty of space for you to lie down on your towel and sunbathe. If you want to take a break from the sun, there’s a small shop where you can buy fresh food and enjoy it on the terrace.

 

 

Complutense University Pool

It opens every day from 11 am to 8 pm, June to September, and there are tons of students that go. The price for a one day ticket is 5€ and you must bring some ID to enter. There’s a bar for you to grab something to eat or drink and they also have changing rooms and lockers.

 

 

 

Canal de Isabel II Sports centre

Located in the Chamberi neighbourhood, this Olympic-sized pool is open only during the Summer and tickets are around 6€. In the same place, you will find tennis and paddle courts, a gym and a bar/restaurant.

 

 

Parque Deportivo Puerta del Hierro

With over 300,000 square meters, this is one of the biggest recreational centres in Madrid. The pool is surrounded by green areas for you to sunbathe and while you are there you can also enjoy other sports such as archery, tennis or rugby.

 

 

 

Centro Deportivo Municipal Vicente del Bosque:

Here you will find not only one, but two 50m pools. They also have tennis courts, and facilities to practice other sports such as beach volleyball, skating, indoor football and many others.
